Dr. Lik Hang Tommy Chan is a distinguished, dual board-certified neurologist recognized by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is also an accredited headache specialist by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties (UCNS).Dr. Chan obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toronto in 2008 and completed his medical education at the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2013. He pursued a comprehensive 5-year adult neurology residency training at the University of Western Ontario, where he was appointed Chief Neurology Resident in 2018. In 2020, he completed a prestigious Headache Fellowship at Stanford University, California, USA. Dr. Chan is a prolific contributor to the field of neurology, with over 34 peer-reviewed publications as of 2025. He has also co-authored book chapters in Post-Traumatic Headache Disorders and Functional Illness: Headaches. His research primarily focuses on primary and secondary headache disorders, advancing the understanding and treatment of these conditions.
Dr. Chan is an active member of the American Headache Society, Canadian Headache Society, and International Headache Society. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for numerous renowned medical journals, including: Cephalalgia, Cephalalgia Reports, Headache, The Journal of Headache and Pain, BMC Neurology, Clinical Neurology & Neurosurgery, The Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences, The Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology.
